I personally don’t think Kershaw was intentionally trying to hit Parra last night. His reaction spoke 1000 words to me, and that’s the problem. Mattingly needs to have a talk about Kershaw keeping his outward emotions in check. Screaming at Parra fromt he dugout the night before was the wrong move, if he hadn’t done that he COULD have intentionally drilled him and only gotten a warning to both benches. Instead he was immediately ejected. Which would have been warranted if it had been an obvious between the numbers drilling, but it wasn’t.
Does Welke think Kershaw really wanted to jeopardize a win, his chances at the Cy Young, and a suspension just for a retaliation? He should have warned him about coming inside and that should have been that.
Oh well, It was a fun game to watch, I’m just glad the bullpen was able to hold it down for Kershaw. With Elimination coming up, Kershaw’s next starts, and Kemp’s every day performance are still making the games worth tuning in to. Oh yeah, and Vin, I will always tune in to hear Vin Scully.
